Four years ago today Adam and I met in person for the first time although we had been talking on the phone for a few weeks and started dating… This is our first picture ever together. It was taken about 3 weeks into our relationship when I

Adam was living in Hudson, WI, and I was living in Northfield, MN. We both had kind of decided that love wasn’t happening right now and stopped “looking” for it, and trying too hard. We were both bored at our homes one night when we got on a Yahoo Chat room, neither of us went on Yahoo chat so it was weird we both went on this night. I don’t even recall the name of the chatroom, but the whole chatroom was talking about tattoos. I remember typing I had two, suddenly this IM pops up from Mindmeld I was like who the hell is this, asking me what and where my tattoos are. Thats how it all starts.
We then started talking on the phone, he was a cable man, and worked long yucky crazy hours. I was going to school as well as working with the elderly in there home. He had been trying to get me to meet him, I really wanted to because something in my heart said this was different, but then I thought… My mom would KILL me if she knew I met a guy online and then met him in person. Finally I got up the courage to meet him, we set up a date/meet-up at a local movie theater. I was SOOO excited, I called him when I got done with work that day, asking him how his day was, if we were still on etc. He said he didn’t have a job right now, and was in Burnsville… I thought to myself NO way I am in Burnsville.
Spur of the moment we met at the Burnsville Mc.Donalds. I had no make-up was exhausted from working, Adam was in the middle of his summer day and was sweaty and smelly. But we met anyway. I pulled into the parking lot while talking to him on the phone, he said oh I see you. I park my car and look in my rear view mirror to see this “man” and it looks like the shovel man from home alone. I know that man is a good man, but he is scary, and this is a guy I am meeting.

He has a white t-shirt on, a black trench coat, jeans tucked in his open black army boots. Part of me thought about leaving, what was I really thinking. But I really couldn’t leave because he was right behind my car. So I got out, he said it was a lifetime before I got out.
We went into Mc.Donalds and everything just clicked, it just felt right, it felt different then any relationship I have had before. It was a short meeting, but enough to feel comfortable.
We met later that night at the movie, and enjoyed a movie together. From there out we had dates whenever we could, with our schedules it wasn’t often, or was later at night. At first I lied to my mom saying I was staying at a friends, then I finally decided I am 19 years old, I am old enough to make my own decisions. When I told my mom I would be staying with Adam tonight she said oh ok, be safe and have fun
Maybe she knew he was the one for me

Thats how we met
