Onion Flavored Pull Pork

by Carrie on March 9, 2008

A few weeks ago we went to my dads for dinner, he made a venison and onion sloppy joe’s type thing. I have had a pork roast sitting in my freezer for a while so we cooked it up tonight when I was working late, and Adam mixed it up quickly before I got home. This has GREAT flavor!

Onion Flavored Pull Pork (From: My Dad)

  • 1 pork roast
  • 1 can of coke
  • 1/4 onion in slices
  • 1 packet of onion soup mix
  • water
  • seasoning salt

Place the roast in the slow cooker place onion slices over the top and then sprinkle on seasoning salt. Pour in can of coke and cook for 8 hours.

Once it’s done shred/cut into pieces, fry in pan with onion soup mix and water, fry until combined and hot.

Serve on buns or over texas toast.

This sounds great. Sounds similar to the root beer pulled pork: http://tinyurl.com/3xu9zr
