Fruit Ponche

by Carrie on March 4, 2012

Being on an online message board I have made many e-friends. I sadly haven’t met any of them in person. But I have “known” many of them for years. One of them was Krystal from Mrs. Requerio’s Plate, as soon as I announced my pregnancy she e-mailed me told me she too was pregnant but hadn’t told people yet. We actually have the same due date. It’s been SOOO fun sharing our pregnancies together. Krystal has much more patients then me and is waiting to find out the sex of their little “cookie.” I love the nickname, so appropriate for a foodie Momma.

When Joelen at What’s Cooking Chicago asked me if I wanted to participate in a Virtual Baby shower for Krystal I was quick to jump on it. Since Krystal and her husband Eric are from a Flipino and Cuban heritage Joelen wanted to display these flavors at the shower. I was unsure what to make but upon searching found this recipe. I love some fruit punch and although I had to make it liquor free for myself and the guest of honor, it was still delicious. I can’t wait to try it again this summer with the liquor.

Congrats Krystal, Eric and baby Cookie!

When I was looking for a beverage to contribute to the shower I came across a recipe very similar to this. I was worried about finding all the ingredients in Hong Kong, so I am really glad you made this! Sounds wonderful and refreshing.
