One of our families favorite Holiday snacks is chex mix, it seems to always be at holiday events, but I rarely make it at home. This saddens my husband greatly because it is his favorite!!!

So when My Blog Spark contacted me asking me to host a Chex Mix Party challenge I was right on board. A reason to try numerous different chex mix recipes sounded perfect to me! The other recipes I tried will be features in the weeks to come.

This was delicious because it was the salty-sweet-chocolate mixture. Delicious!

Chex Caramel-Chocolate Drizzles (From: Chex)

• 3 cups corn chex
• 3 cups rice chex
• 1/2 bag (14oz size) caramels (about 25)
• 2 T. butter or margarine
• 2 T. milk
• 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals.

In medium microwavable bowl, microwave caramels, butter and milk uncovered on High for 2-3 minutes, stirring after each minute, until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Pour over cereals, gently stir until evenly coated.

Microwave on High 3-4 minutes, stirring after each minute, until just beginning to brown. Spread on waxed paper to cool.

In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncoered on high about 1 minute or until chocolate can be stirred smooth. Drizzle over snack. Refrigerate until set.

Store in air tight container and try to resist the urge to eat it all

I was making smoothies daily for breakfast, but I started running out of fruit and then the temps got colder and I stopped all together. But I have been wanting to get back into them as they really helped me get fruit into my system. When I got this offer from Yoplait to try the chocolate banana smoothie they had came out with I was really excited. Unfortunately our store did have that flavor when I went so I opted for strawberry banana, but I will be going back for that one sooner then later!

Lately I have fell head over heels in love with smoothies. I honestly can’t remember ever eating a “healthy” good normal breakfast. I gave these a go the other day and loved them and have had one every day since then. SOOO yummy. I buy all my fruit in bulk cut and freeze in bags and then in the morning I pop the frozen fruit, milk and yogurt in the blender and call it good.

Fruit Smoothie (From: Myself)

• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/2 cup yogurt
• 6 strawberries **you can sub ANY fruit you want!**
• 1/2 banana
• 1/2 cup pineapple

Put all ingredients into blender and blend until desired consistency. Pour into glass and enjoy!

Four years ago today I sat in our apartment and decided since I was a stay at home wife I should make my husband a special valentines dinner. I made coconut cake… Why I am not so sure as Adam doesn’t like coconut. I then decided to start a blog as a way to keep track of our favorite recipes.

Since then my blog has grown more then I ever thought was possible. And that is thanks to all you wonderful loyal readers. So in order of my 4th birthday I am going to do 4 giveaways. I will be giving away one item a week for 4 weeks, all will be my favorite items centered around the kitchen.

My favorite food Magazine hands down is Food Network, I love the recipes. Have tried many and never been disappointed. Right in the front is little thumbnails with every recipe in the magazine. Funfetti Bread Pudding (From: Culinary Concoctions of Peabody)

• 10 ounces Funfetti Cake Mix
• 3 large eggs
• 1 egg yolk
• 1 ½ cup half and half
• 1 cup whipping cream (no heavy whipping cream)
• 1 loaf French Bread (or Challah)
• Sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350F.

Butter a 8-x-8-inch baking pan.

Break the bread into pieces. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the half and half, cream, and eggs. Add cake mix.

Whisk until fully incorporated.

Layer bread, extra sprinkles, and batter. Press down and repeat until batter is gone. You want all the bread soaked. Top with sprinkles on top.

Place in a water bath. Bake for 50 minutes. Remove from water bath and bake another 10-15 minutes.

Macaroni Grill is one of my favorite resturants, sadly the one near us recently closed and now we have further to travel to get to one and don’t often make it that far. When I was contacted asking if I wanted to do give Macaroni Grill Frozen entrees a try and do a giveaway I jumped on the chance.

I admit I try to stay away from already prepared foods, but there is some nights that just isn’t possible. Last night was one of the those nights, I hate Mondays, hate them with a passion. And I never think to throw something in the crockpot in the morning so always left scrambling at night. Last night I decided to give this a try.

We enjoyed it. Ofcourse it was not as good as at the resturant but the next best thing I would say, and for opening bag, adding milk and cooking you can’t beat it.
